All of September is an eclipse month, opening with the Lunar Eclipse on the 7th. This whole month carries the turbulence and insecurity that often coincide with eclipses.

On the 21st, the Solar Eclipse is in the last degree of Virgo (opposite Saturn and Neptune and in a grand trine with Pluto and Uranus forming a kite configuration) which points to significant endings and karmic completion.

New beginnings may be challenged by confused ideals and reality testing and potentially supported by intuition. Penetrating insights into life’s mysteries may bring inspiration that feeds inner freedom and a sense of connectedness with the larger fabric of humanity.

Saturn and Neptune have been traveling side by side this summer as they move toward a powerful conjunction on February 20, 2026. Even now we are in their orb and this eclipse is a strong punctuation point along the way.

The qualities of Saturn and Neptune are distinctly different and difficult to synthesize.

Saturn is the voice of authority, responsibility, structure, boundaries, tradition, discipline, concentration, hard work, control, limitation, and reality.

Neptune is ethereal, dissolving, boundaryless, confusion, inspiration, intoxication, intuition, deception, illusion, imagination, and spirituality.

Neptune can be dreamy and Saturn a wet blanket. Neptune is sensitive and Saturn can be supportive. At their best, combining practicality and idealism, they denote manifesting dreams.

Mars (Scorpio) squares Pluto (Aquarius) on the 24th, already moving into place during the eclipse, this intense aspect is pushy and down-right aggressive. It gives great focus and persistence despite obstacles yet also tends towards violence. Catharsis.

Aries Sun, the sign of “Me First”

Fiery center of our solar system,
shrouded, veiled, overshadowed.

History says a leader shall fall,
perhaps a hero will rise.
A battle of wills.

Deal with the collective forces.

Neptune enters Aries

A powerful super moon, close to the earth, this is a significant eclipse that gives a push (not a nudge!) for letting go, cleaning house, releasing habits and attitudes that keep us stuck in the past.

There is always the unexpected that crops up.
… an all-consuming crisis rears its head and demands all your attention.
… perhaps your vitality is depleted.

Violence and conflict inflamed on the world stage.
Venus and Mercury are still retrograde.

Neptune at 29 degrees (the last degree) of Pisces. Mysticism. Escapism. Despair. Trusting Spirit. Fatigue. Selflessness. Surrender. Victimization. Illusion. Compassion. Conjunct with Venus at the eclipse brings desire, yearning, and a high romanticism of ideals.

March 30: Neptune enters Aries. (until October 22, 2025 returns to Pisces, and then in Aries January 26, 2026 – May 21, 2038). Neptune’s previous entry into Aries was in 1861, precisely on the day the USA began the Civil War. Dreams and ideals may be aligned with aggression, competition and winning at all costs. There is a potential for imagination and innovation to combine with strength and willpower to achieve dreams.

The eclipse kicks off a sequence of events that resonates, multiplies, ripples and builds through this year and culminates in January and February 2026 (the exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries). More on that in upcoming posts…

What was up during October 2024? (last year’s lunar eclipse in Aries, was in a close orb).

Other time periods to consider include:
Aries Solar Eclipses (at about the same degree) occurred on March 29th, 2006 and March 29th, 1987.

Previous eclipses that are a part of this Saros eclipse cycle occurred in March 1989, February 1971, and February 1953. These are the most recent, the cycle goes back 361 years and continues until the year 2908. To put things in perspective!

Eclipse Conflux

A confusing conflux of cycles
overlap and merge,
messy circumstances congregate,
communication conflicts crop up,
rapid change all along the way.

A time of flux, of back and forth,
distractions, delays,
false starts and worry.
Agitation.
Misunderstanding. Reconsideration.

There is an unraveling,
questioning the mystery,
fearful imaginings,
many feeling lost and confused.

Constant opportunities to help and serve,
to be in connection with others,
to make a difference,
to feel and to be aligned with Spirit.

Energized by synchronicities
and fresh perspectives.
Breaking free from constraints.

Yes, there’s a lot going on,
these times are weird, surreal,
and dramatic.

Sharp contrast
between ideals and reality.

Everything is interconnected.
Watch your step.

Lunar Eclipse Virgo

Significant endings and beginnings. Virgo brings attention to discern and question: What is a meaningful life?

Eclipses change the way we perceive the world. What is hidden is often revealed. What is real for you? How do your dreams and ideals inspire you? Stay awake. Simplify.

This lunar eclipse is the Virgo Full Moon opposite Pisces Sun. Virgo is resonant with divine order. Pisces is abstract, formless. Tension between logic and intuition. Alignment with compassion and service. Where or what do you need to clean up or reorganize or let go?

The weeks between the eclipses are always rich and deep. March 2025 is particularly intense. Profound.

Venus and Mercury, both retrograde in Aries (and then in Pisces) meet and weave through the eclipse portal. Venus retro in Aries is impulsive and direct (read more in my previous post). Mercury retro in Aries often jumps to conclusions, is argumentative and outspoken. Keep that in mind and think before you speak.

Significant dates below with brief comments, not intended as a thorough analysis:

March 15: Mercury in Aries stations retrograde alongside Venus retrograde in Aries. Courageous and bold or egotistic bravado?

March 20: Spring Equinox, Sun enters Aries.

March 22: Sun conjunct Venus Aries. Midpoint of the Venus retro cycle. Love, money, self-worth, all relationships, creativity. What do you want?

March 24: Sun conjunct Mercury Aries. Midpoint of the Mercury retro cycle. Illumination of the mind. Dynamic communication. Ambition.

March 27: Venus retro enters Pisces and conjuncts Neptune. What are your dreams? (waking and/or sleeping).

March 29: Solar Eclipse Aries and Mercury retro enters Pisces and conjuncts Neptune. (more in the next AstroFlash)

March 30: Neptune enters Aries. (until October 22, 2025 then returns to Pisces, and into Aries January 26, 2026 – May 21, 2038).

There is a lot for us to chew on. March 22-24 is a potent juncture.

Note what houses in your chart hold Pisces and Aries, there is a great focus of activity and change in these areas for you. Allow space for rest to calm and refresh your waters as well as physical activity to revitalize your body and spirit!

Pisces New Moon, Venus & Mars Standstill

Confusion reigns.

what is going on.

Pisces New Moon

Questioning reality. Yearning for ideals. Numbing out.
Distraction. Overwhelm. Fatigue. Escapism.

Five planets plus the Lunar North Node line up in Pisces at this new moon. Neptune, ruler of Pisces, is still conjunct the North Node.

Take a time out. Hug a tree. Commune with the ocean. Gather with kindred spirits. Meditate with ambient music. Gaze at the sky. Cleanse your aura. Unplug. Sing! Be quiet.

It’s very complicated! Here goes…. take it slow…

Mars at a standstill.

Restrained friction, slow burn. Simmering. Treading water. We may question our or others motivations.

Check this out: Mars retrograde December 6, 2024 to February 23, 2025.

Now Mars hanging out at 17 degrees Cancer from February 12 – March 9. In other words, Mars is direct but not moving forward …yet!

After March 9, Mars begins to pick up speed… does that mean we are free and clear? Nope! Read on…

Venus is slowing down to retrograde on March 1^st (until April 12).

Venus sits at 10 degrees Aries from February 23 to March 7 which overlaps with Mars at a standstill!

We are in a SLOW process of turning. Collectively and personally, we are processing, assimilating, concocting, maneuvering, managing, organizing, and transforming.

Venus at a standstill.

Anger…Rage! Frustration. Provocative.

Relationships and/or $ often need revisioning.

Self-worth is examined, may be tested.

Venus demands that defend our values. What is worth fighting for?

It gets even weirder when Mercury retrogrades on March 14 in the same area (Aries/Pisces) as the Venus retro.

Everything Changes

Everything changes,
Everything changes,
Nothing is set in stone.

We’re in a complex turning of directions,
not a one-way street.

This year we seem to move forward,
only to backtrack, reassess,
and align our actions
with new information or circumstances.

However it shakes out,
We will be forever changed.

Different elements, values,
ideas and cultures
are coming together
and being influenced by another.

It may seem unreal,
like a dream.

Whose dream are you dreaming?

Whose dream are you believing?

The collective dreams are the underpinning.
Don’t ignore the subtleties.
Yes, it is confusing,
leaning towards numbing out,
stumbling into deceptions and falsehoods,
mesmerized and addictive…

(reflected by Neptune (in late Pisces) conjunct the Lunar North Node in aspect to the upcoming Venus retrograde).

Don’t get sucked into a downward spiral! Give yourself quiet time to tune into your center and clear away the distractions that weigh you down and sap your strength and vitality. Soothe yourself with movement and touch; with music and song; feast your eyes on beautiful flowers and the vibrant, living green. Gather with friends and community.

Leo Full Moon
February 12, 2025, 5:52 am PST

In the days leading up to the full moon, Sun and Mercury conjunct in Aquarius on February 9 (clarity and the ability to articulate new awareness). The next day, February 10, Mercury squares Uranus, followed by Sun square Uranus on February 11. The next morning, on February 12, the Moon moves into place, creating a full moon with Moon, Sun and Mercury squaring Uranus (a T-square in astrological parlance).

We’re in for a shock. Uranus is known for unexpected disruptions and often crisis. Rapid change. At the very least, it will be tense. Considering that the full moon is in Leo, I don’t expect it to be understated. More likely dramatic fireworks.

Also note, Mars (Cancer) is still retrograde, slowing down until it stations direct on February 23. Still moving slowly until it picks up the pace after March 9.

There’s more ahead… to be continued. Stay attuned to what is life-giving and not what is draining your life force.
