Each moment dies
as a new moment is born.
Breath after breath
and each moment in between.
Our lives are knit
into stories
we wear
our stories
become our skin.
Etched with history,
illustrated with truth,
scars contract, pull tight.
Unrecognizable,
skin no longer seems to fit.
Deep within
below the scars of life experience
life force rises.
A caterpillar steps out
and sheds the old skin
again and again
in the cycle of life.

sun and moon in an ancient dance
