“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” Joseph Campbell
Eclipse dilemma.
Too much.
Not enough.
Too timid.
Not enough confidence.
Too pompous.
Not enough humility.
Blazing fires scorch the land;
smoky haze obscures clarity and poisons the air.
In the face of fear,
it takes audacity to stand in your center and shine.
In the face of criticism,
it takes audacity to feel your vulnerability and open your heart.
In the uncertainty of life,
it takes audacity to look inside and be with your shadow self.
Vitality and power can rise despite a crippling shadow
or perhaps in credit to the shadow,
for without the shadow there is no light.
The struggle towards wholeness
includes trusting the creative sparks within
to develop the strength of center.
“Resist a shadow and it will become your nemesis, make peace with your shadow and you will become allies.” Jane Friesen
Solar Eclipse Leo
August 11, 2018 2:57 am PDT
Sound familiar? Cosmos continues to emphasize the lessons of shadow and light in the dramatic arena of Leo. In January, we experienced a total lunar eclipse in Leo. In 2017, we had a lunar eclipse in Leo and two new moons in Leo, of which the second was a Solar Eclipse. Now, as I wrote then: A Solar Eclipse changes the way we perceive the order of our lives. We see darkness where we depend on seeing light. The shadow is more obscure. The light is more brilliant. The grand display of contrast can accentuate a sharp focus of clarity.
A shadow is created by the Moon, voice of instinct and mystery of the unconscious. The seed of this new moon incorporates the shadow. Can we own the Leo courage to admit to denial as it is revealed? Are we willing to be awake to generous, creative and playful emergence? Full spectrum of Leo pride and personal power. As we release the denial we open to new life force and vitality.
“Finding the center of strength within ourselves is in the long run the best contribution we can make to our fellow men. … One person with indigenous inner strength exercises a great calming effect on panic among people around him. This is what our society needs — not new ideas and inventions; important as these are, and not geniuses and supermen, but persons who can be, that is, persons who have a center of strength within themselves.” Rollo May
