Sky above, earth below
the duality dance of incarnation.
Sky above, earth below
each one of us,
an intersection of the two.

Midpoint between Solstice and Equinox
the past lives within,
the future is a breath away.

Spacious imagining. Aquarius New Moon stimulates fresh and innovative approaches to familiar holding patterns. There is a spark of opening to new possibilities. Aquarius sees humor in human dilemmas. We’re all in this together. Aquarius sparkle meets Imbolc, a new moon at the cross-quarter (midpoint between Winter and Spring) is a propitious point of energized beginnings.

February 1st begins with Mars square Pluto. The aspect is intense, controlled, often angry and competitive. Mars travels ahead to join with Uranus on February 12, no restraint, potentially reckless, highly energized, eager to initiate change!

February 6 – March 6: Uranus moves through the 29th degree of Aries. This a a wild passage that portends discoveries and forging ahead and yet may also fuel radical behavior for those who only hold self-interest. “Expect the unexpected.” Look where Aries is located in your chart for this “last blast” of initiative and breakthrough and make the most of this time.

Lunar Eclipse Leo: Ignite your Path

reveal your heart fire.
Ignite your path.
Illuminate hidden traps.
Clear the way forward.

Dispense expectations.
Create space for the unexpected.
Live in the now.
Deal with the what is.
Dance away the debris
of the past.

Lunar Eclipse Leo

I’ll take the liberty of quoting myself regarding a Lunar Eclipse Leo:

The dark side of this eclipse is greed, self-pity or a hunger for approval that masquerades as emotional fulfillment. The awakening is connected to a larger, all-inclusive awareness, that takes in the mistakes of the past and includes healing and forgiveness.

The eclipsed moon is in Leo, sign of creative expression, generosity and self-love. Doesn’t everyone deserve unabashed self-love and the vitality of self confidence? Here we have an opportunity to see and feel limiting criticism and judgements exposed. Welcome the light of love into the hidden places, bring gentleness to the vulnerability within you and the vulnerability in everyone.

Additionally, Jupiter square Neptune which came into place on January 13 (through September 21, 2019) gets cozy with Venus in Sagittarius at the time of this eclipse. Dreams and desire, illusions and ideals in romance and friendships are heightened. Enjoy the optimistic boost, be inspired, don’t hesitate to ask questions and be up front with the truth. Expectations go hand in hand with ideals. Be clear about your intentions and those of others. For some, there is an inexplicable yearning that cannot be quenched.

Eclipses always agitate the air. This one is squared by Uranus, the electric agent of synchronicity and change. We’re getting more than the usual dose (but what is usual anymore??) of the unexpected. Some will be feeling more nervous, angry or impulsive. Use the impetus to break free of fear and find the freedom to express yourself.

Communitas Retreat

communitas 300x225 - Communitas Retreat Summer 2018, I led sound meditations with the Tibetan bowls at a Communitas retreat for teenagers with chronic illness (and their caregivers). I brought my butterflies and caterpillars, too!!

It was a profound experience and an honor to be a part of the five day retreat at Commonweal, located at the edge of the Pacific Ocean in the Point Reyes National Seashore in Northern California. This video is about the program and watching it brought tears to my eyes at the end…

Solar Eclipse Capricorn

Solar Eclipses are notable for shuffling the deck. This one is in Capricorn, the sign associated with structure and authority. How clearly the eclipse speaks as the old Patriarchal power insists on building walls and barriers and the fresh blood in 116th class of Congress, unprecedented in diversity, speaks for holding a more inclusive umbrella for the generations ahead.

As the insecurity of boundaries is challenged, we grapple with authority, responsibility and control. There is a deep healing crisis that resonates around the world and in our personal lives. The limitations of dysfunctional ancestral lineage are becoming glaringly obvious. It is not an easy task to face and release the guilt, inhibitions and fear that are embedded in our cellular memories.

Flaws are magnified as we are achingly aware of where we are at odds, what doesn’t fit, what is broken. Restrictive boundaries. Loneliness. Be aware of self criticism and blame. Define purpose. Set intentions.

Solstice Moon: Renew the Light Within

The days grow shorter,
the nights grow longer.
We renew the Light within.

Step outside, infinite sky,
as above, so below.
Ancient rhythms are alive.

Be nourished by your open mind,
daily miracles of grace.
A bird in flight.
The bowl of warm soup.
A smile.

Look ahead…
spin out to future calibrations.
Return, return to the Here & Now.

Fear, apprehension,
desire, yearning, optimism…
traveling the spectrum of speculation.

Root yourself in this moment.
Set your internal compass.
Come home to yourself.

Hours after the Solstice, the full moon comes to fruition. Luminous Cancer Moon opposite Capricorn Sun highlights a sharpened awareness of our needs and the needs of our world. Now we must integrate self nurturing and self discipline. Mercury and Jupiter conjunct in Sagittarius calls for adventure and offers an expansive perspective. For some, too many distractions and wasteful choices. There is a reactivity, feelings run high and righteousness comes easy. People want to be heard. Sincere seekers are ignited. Sometimes it’s all talk.

In two weeks, the new moon is a Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. A rumbling in the foundation.
