Catalyst of constellations
arouses unsolved questions
and agitates the crux of change.

The back and forth of indecision…
or pushing a point
or being pushed.
This way, that a way
pulled in every direction.

Responsibility for what is essential
is the driving core of transformation.
Rebellion challenges, disrupts, demands:
Do it a different way.

The path of balance
calls forth resourcefulness, creativity
and grace under pressure.

Each deep breath brings
the next breath.
Each moment
is followed by another.

Be courageous, be bold,
take the risk to be kind.

Libra Full Moon

This Full Moon in Libra supercharges the axis of the feminine and masculine qualities within us. Retrograde Venus incites us to ignite our feminine values. The retrograde began in Aries (March 1), standing with strength to defend our values. Venus entered Pisces (April 2), where we swim in the waters of the subconscious to awaken and perhaps reclaim our unheard, ignored or hidden voices. We may discover unintended sacrifices that have been made or fantasy that once seemed a reality.

Venus squares Saturn twice (April 8 and April 21) within a short period of time, which colors the span with sober considerations regarding boundaries in relationships and financial decisions. Discontent. Restraint. Thwarted desires. Conservative values. Defining what (or who) is worthy of commitment.

When we are in touch with our desires, needs and feelings, we can acknowledge and respect ourselves. Rather than forcing circumstances, we are able to trust our integrity. Intuitive faith is our ally as we seek “relatedness” in our lives. Yes, we can deceive ourselves or be misled. We also have a choice to inquire with fresh eyes as denial or deception is revealed. Venus direct (April 15), we emerge somewhat tender and wiser. By the time Venus enters Aries (April 28), we are ready to initiate with conviction. Time to move on.

The ancient Meso-Americans timed their battles and sacrifices with the cycle of Venus we are currently experiencing. Taking this cue, we may ask –
What is worth fighting for in my life?
Is there something I must sacrifice in order to get what I want?
How may I walk my path with balance and trust my decisions and direction?

Mercury Retrograde Taurus April 9 – May 3, 2017

Mercury’s retrograde journey through Taurus reflects our thought process around material values and financial concerns. The usual retrograde caveats apply: pay attention to details, scrutinize contracts, back up your computer. Fix what needs fixin’! Mercury backs into Aries on April 20 to recover details we missed when Mercury charged through the first time. <sigh> We can get impatient, discouraged and angry with this tedious retrograde!

The gift is in cultivating awareness of beauty, sensuality and sacred pleasure in our lives. Is that so awful? Conscious breath, meditation, yoga, music, dance and all forms of artistic expression and appreciation are enhanced. Reorientation of our personal values may call us outdoors to awaken our fertile minds through connection with nature. Where is your attention? There is more than meets the eye.

The retrograde in an earth element brings inquiry to our practical reality and the value of the material world. This includes finances, our physical needs for comfort and all that comprises life on this precious earth in our precious bodies.

Note – April 19 is when Mercury is at its closest to the Earth. This is the Inferior Conjunction of the Sun. Be aware of what arises to your attention, what is revealed. Look to where 1 degree of Taurus is located in your astrological chart for further clues.

We are sadly disconnected with our heritage of beauty wisdom. This passage of Mercury offers us another cycle to reclaim and appreciate our biological birthright. How are we caring for Mother Earth? The earth and we are one.

Hesitation is not Aries’ suit.
Her style is a wild & willful leap,
a dynamic forward force into the world.
Consider now,
the hand of balance and restraint,
the willful stand of resistance
of Venus retrograde in Aries.*

We feel the urge, the itch,
the pressure to take the initiative,
break new ground and seize the day.
But there is a snag,
another delay,
yet another consideration.
This back and forth.
Something holding back.
Anger, irritation and burnout may arise.
Perhaps a sense of defeat or inadequacy.

Look to where balance is needed.
Efforts with diplomacy and cooperation.
