Catalyst.

Expansive Jupiter conjunct ineffable Neptune is inspired, intuitive and potentially unfocused. Sober Saturn weighs towards caution and authority. A strange arrangement of planetary configurations.

Past and Present Themes. Saturn in Aquarius squares the lunar nodes: the gravity of analysis, restructuring and building for the future. The scrutiny and evaluation of societal boundaries, rules and structures. Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces envision the future. Mystical invocation. Trust. Sacrifice. Illusion, wishful thinking or just weird? Otherworldly.

The last time Jupiter was conjunct Neptune in Pisces was in March of 1856.

Synthesis.

There are as many possibilities of this blend as there are people in the world. For some, this really is a magical time when opportunities and dreams appear that may be real or not. For others, this is a time of hardship and reckoning. For all of us, striving for a synthesis of the past and the future. A major turn of the wheel. The weight of karmic patterns. Saturn’s voice of responsibility and accountability is loud and strong. Organizing one’s life. Facing one’s resistance to change. Overemphasis on work. Potentially depressing.

Both of these aspects coincide April 11-12, then activated by Venus and Mars through mid May. More confusion, more opportunity, more magic ahead.

Libra Full Moon on April 16 squares Pluto, deepening existing conflict and unearthing more from the personal and collective psyche. Catharsis. There is a need for each one of us to realize our power to transform, heal and affirm the preciousness of life on earth.

New Moon Confluence: Begin Again

The great wheel turns.  This lunar cycle converges with Chinese New Year of the Tiger, and Imbolc, the cross-quarter, the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Let go of the old and make way for the new. Notice the signs of the promise of spring. Even if you are buried in snow (literally or metaphorically), the days are growing longer!  Nature affirms new beginnings.

The signature of last year’s transit of Saturn and Uranus is waning. This new moon is a trigger. We’re still unraveling the outworn story and reweaving the new.

Old responsibilities continue to bear weight and there is a sense of slogging through the work to be done. Friction between caution and the urge to go. Be open to fresh clarity about future goals. 

Being truthful about the state of our nation and world does not equal losing hope. Hope sees truth and still believes in better. That which dismisses or does not seek truth, but grins, saying “It will be okay,” is naivete, not hope.” Bernice King

Tsunami Full Moon

This lunation brings choppy waves,
no wonder there’s a tsunami.

Tension, irritability,
full moon pressure at
cathartic crossroads.

Neither
compulsive work
or emotional withdrawal
are solutions
to the pressures
of life’s demands.

Shifting ocean tides surge and swell.
Wave after wave
pulls back and reveals residue and debris.
Sift through your muck.
Feel into your bare bones.

Tuck into your shell, be tossed by the waves…
spiral inward, find your center,
strength and tenderness
deep within.

Cancer Full Moon

Every full moon emphasizes polarity and this one is no exception. Pluto is closely aligned this round (Opposite the Moon and conjunct the Sun), a planet of a catharsis, death and rebirth, regeneration and repair, power and fear.
There is a tendency to feel with great depth and intensity unless the focus is on avoidance and denial. Addictive behavior is compelling. There can be a sense of feeling at odds with self and/or with others. Some may feel attacked and focus on self-protection and security.
Take note of your own red flags, pay attention and dive deep into your emotional storm… in a non-destructive way!

It’s time to release the old, outworn habits and ambitions that are taking up valuable space in your psyche as well as in your outer life.
Tenacity and focus are enhanced – choose your intentions.

Venus has been retrograde since December 19 and will station direct on January 29. Mercury retro on January 14 until February 3.
Both of these cycles point to the unconscious rhythms of reflection within. Each individual has their own unique timing. Although society pushes us to focus on the outward, a large part of our lives is personal and inward. For most folks, it’s really not time to make a bold leap into the new year.

Scorpio New Moon, Dark Moon

Dark moon
the shadow side
the underbelly
the slippery slope.

Down in the labyrinth,
learn how to see in the dark. Subterranean passages

Water runs deep, bubbling up.

Memories, secrets,
betrayal,
the gritty seams.

Naked metaphors.
Waste, trauma, poison,

Scorpio New Moon, Dark Moon

Scorpio tends to hold their cards close to the chest, keep it cool, don’t reveal too much. But the new moon lands exactly opposite Uranus and it’s likely to be an emotional roller-coaster for some people. Restraint is not the word of the day… except for those bound to codes of safety and protection who may over-react. This new moon kicks off a month that highlights the tense Saturn square Uranus signature of 2021.

Don’t let anxiety, agitation and irritability run the show.

Choose your path. Combine emotional intensity with mental perception to break away from limiting habits. What are your “go to” self-destructive habits? Direct the restlessness of this moon phase to break through emotional conflict and tune into clarity and intuition. The influence of Uranus is bold and often chaotic, yet Uranus is also known as the Awakener and the Liberator. In other words, wake up and be free!

The new moon seed comes to fruition at the next full moon, a lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 19. Transformation full speed ahead!
