Full Moon tightly conjunct Saturn (Capricorn’s ruler) is not a comfortable pair. This is the first Full Moon in Capricorn since the Saturn ingress to Capricorn on December 19, 2017. Reality hits home. The seriousness and reserve we may appreciate about Capricorn and Saturn can be downright gloomy and depressed now. Paired with the Moon <sigh> , the mood can be overly cautious, fearful and pessimistic. We are more inclined to put up fortresses than to go with the flow. Make a cozy nest and be kind to yourself and others… OK?

Mars in Aquarius, fresh in the retrograde quest (June 26-August 27), incites impatience, rebelliousness, and anger. Some individuals will face the inevitable when Mars conjuncts the South Node in mid-July. Mars revisits Capricorn (mid-August) bringing a revolutionary impulse into the status quo. Anger must be handled appropriately or there will likely be a backlash.

We are also heading into Eclipse season, with a triple-header this year: July 12, July 27 and August 11. Instability and synchronicity rearrange the mundane.

Moon face turns toward us

A grand trine in water stands out in the design of this month’s full moon. The positive tendency is to awaken inspired sensuality and compassion. The imbalance is indulgence in excess and avoidance of truth and understanding. It is important to wake up with the realization that we are all in this together. There is danger in escapist (and often addictive) behavior and the retreat into ideals that we think will shelter us from our collective reality.

Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius) retrograde in Scorpio, can urge us to dig for truth and meaning. Neptune in Pisces dissolves boundaries with the potential to inspire compassion. Venus in Cancer resonates with love for home, family, safety and nostalgia.

Taurus New Moon: Earth Wisdom

Taurus is the first earth sign of the zodiac. Fertile, loyal, steady and calm are qualities that are fed by this lunation. This is the time of year for each of us to affirm our connection with our earthy senses. Sensuality, security and comfort. From this center of self-awareness, we are renewed with strength and determination.

Uranus enters Taurus

Only hours after the new moon forms, Uranus enters Taurus where it will be for the next eight years (retrograde in Aries November 6, 2018 – March 6, 2019). Uranus is the Awakener, one of the transpersonal planets that spans a generation of collective change. The tempo and tone is rapid, unexpected and often chaotic. In Taurus, we’re likely to see this reflected in drastic changes in the earth. The volcanic activity in Hawaii has this hallmark of this ingress. In the years ahead, areas of potential innovation and instability include agriculture, the food industry and distribution, corporate machines of earth destruction such as fracking and pipelines. Innovation in the technology of security. Global banking, all forms of how we tender earthly resources are up for radical change.

For individuals who are prone to self-sacrifice, the Uranus in Taurus years offer opportunities to focus on personal freedom and one’s own desires. Attachment to things (physical objects) from a place of scarcity and fear can suddenly be released. Simplicity and practicality are revolutionary. For those who are overly self-absorbed with personal gratification there may be a renewed insistence on greed.

Venus, the ruler of Taurus, will retrograde later this fall, another indication of a reconsideration of finances and relationships. Together with the roller coaster quality of Uranus in Taurus, many are sure to see a fluctuation of desires and a change in values during this year. One thing leads to another. What is emerging from your subconscious?

One more note considering this new moon and the days following: Mars enters Aquarius on May 15 and proceeds to square Uranus through Saturday May 19. A raw and explosive combination. The pace of life accelerates this week. The fight for rights, anger, pushiness and impatience can be disruptive. Reread the first part of this post and take it to heart. A Traveling Turtle Story

The turtle was walking up the street, followed by crows. An exclamation of crows swirled above it, others perched on the crosshatch of utility wires. One crow was hopping directly behind the turtle.

I dropped the phone, “gotta go”. The crows were not in a hurry to leave, but moved on when I picked up the reptile. Its belly shell warmed the palm of my hand. Magic follows me.

I brought it inside the house and put it in the bathtub. A red-eared slider, it needs the water. It explored the edges of the tub, looking for a way to climb up. I checked on craigslist lost & found, then searched on the next door site and contacted a family whose turtle took a hike several weeks ago. The surprise and wonderment of finding the creature began to settle into pondering how to care for it and how long would it be in my care.

Good news came that evening when “Benny” reunited with the family who I’d contacted earlier. I was charmed to see how he obviously recognized his people. Three weeks, four blocks uphill. It all came together in flurry of wings, a glance through the window and an adventurous turtle. Magic breezed through that day, touched my grateful heart and continued on its way.

“In Native American teachings, Turtle is the oldest symbol for planet Earth. Turtle indicates Earth harmony, and draws you to all that is whole and good and abundant. Make haste slowly.

Connect to Earth Mother. Ask for her blessings. Fertility and manifestation will follow.”
