Aries New Moon

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, a young upstart not known for its patience. The new moon comes into place alongside Uranus, the rule-breaker. Together, they are a rash alliance that activates disruption and breakthrough. Situations that have been lagging may receive a new infusion of inspiration or a sharp push for change.

This lunation gives courage to move forward. If, for some reason, courage is masked or stifled, extreme dissatisfaction, anger and agitation usually arises in its place. The impulse, the urge to break out of limiting factors is strong. Aries acts swiftly and instinctually.

Uranus is moving through the final degrees of Aires. The seed of this new moon culminates in two weeks at the Scorpio Full Moon at the time Uranus begins to traverse the 29th degree (until it enters Taurus on May 15). Uranus is a planet of radical change. As we close important chapters in our lives, take note that Uranus is known as “The Awakener”.

Ready or not, the immediacy of this present moment propels us forward. Yet, the importance of conscious intention at this New Moon cannot be overstated. Mercury stations direct only hours before Sun and Moon align, don’t be too hasty. Mars (ruler of Aries) continues to travel between Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. It catches up with Pluto on April 26. It will be retrograde June 26 – August 27. There will be plenty of opportunities to test, question and struggle with self-initiative and the will of others. Now the question is where do you need to focus your fire and assert yourself? Are you fierce and unfettered or irritated and burnt out? Tune into your personal sense of Now… or Now What?

Libra Full Moon: Give Peace a Chance

See that Full Moon. It’s her time to shine.
Complexities are highlighted.
Hierarchical jousting,
there is pressure from all sides.

She walks a tightrope.
Torn between her head and her belly.
Mediating towards equilibrium
in a shifting equation
of intensity, responsibility and extremes.
Cooperation is key.

Libra Full Moon

This lunation culminates in a cardinal t-square which usually indicates crisis with excitement and challenge. Aries impatience chafes with Capricorn’s caution and reserve. Anger arises. Control is displayed. Agitation, discussions and negotiations. Ambition, desire and ideals.

Venus in Taurus (Venus rules both Libra and Taurus) adds a solid voice for slowing down with pleasure, as well as gravitating towards practical and creative solutions. Libra is drawn towards talking about co-creating balance, harmony and cooperation. Aries challenges and asserts individuality. The full moon vibe reaches new levels as Mercury retrograde (Aries) reaches an inferior conjunction with the Sun on April 1, followed by Mars conjunct Saturn in Capricorn on April 2. These aspects will be eye-opening, How is this showing up in your life?

Pisces New Moon: Ineffable

Pisces New Moon

Pisces New Moon heightens our senses to be intuitively aware of both the fragility and the strength of being alive. Reality is relative. Time for reflection and listening is precious and necessary. It is an ongoing process to discern the difference between intuition and imagination. The urge to slip into dreamworlds and altered states of perception is enhanced. Avoidance of discomfort. Addiction. Some individuals are driven to do anything to dissolve or escape the limitations of pain and suffering.

Chiron is conjunct the lunation. Boundaries are uncertain. It is difficult to avoid the painful truth. Additionally, Mars in Sagittarius makes an edgy square to all three: Sun, Moon and Chiron in Pisces. Unresolved issues surface. It is challenging to stay present, the urge to escape is strong. Mars is at 29 degrees, the anaretic degree, the final degree in Sagittarius before it moves in to Capricorn. A sense of frustration and urgency to take action in accordance with one’s personal truth or morals. Crisis. Endings. Confusion. Shattered illusions. A potent opportunity for healing painful memories and old wounds through compassion and forgiveness. Stay present and do the deep work.

In the cosmic choreography of Pisces New Moon, the inner work, the invisible devotions, the unseen service feeds us in ways we may not always understand. We are the seeds surrendering to the ancient waters. The waters of tears, grief, ecstasy and the birth of hope.

This new moon marks four days until the Spring Equinox (March 20). It is a time of shift, change and transition. One foot in the Winter wanders in timeless dreamtime of Pisces, of imagination, of unfinished business and the weight of responsibilities we must carry forth. The other foot is already sprinting forward with the Aries fire of Lifeforce rising. Two days later on March 22, Mercury in Aries is retrograde until April 15. A particularly uncomfortable placement for hot-headed Aries, sparks will fly. Yes, introspection for careless words and actions. Go back and pick up those details we missed in haste.

incomprehensible

Expansive numinousness
the oneness
the helplessness and suffering.
The Caring.

The wondering, the wonderment
the inspiration, the knowing
and the wondering again and again.

incomprehensible

The full moon holds
all
of
this
feeling
into it all.
The full moon holds us
and we hold each other.
The Caring.

To discern without being critical.
To celebrate integrity.
To make the world a better place.

This full moon stands out in strong contrast to the cluster of planets in Pisces. Neptune, Pisces ruler, is also opposite the Moon. Many are feeling very, very sensitive now. Solar Eclipse Aquarius: Wake Up Call

A Solar Eclipse changes the way we perceive the order of our lives. We see a shadow where we depend on seeing light. We may be startled by our own shadows and try to throw them on someone else! The darkness accentuated by an eclipse can bring a sharp focus of clarity into our field of vision. The infinite unknown must be taken into account. Eclipses are supernatural passageways that accentuate the uncertainty of daily life. The challenge of incorporating streams of new information into a foundation of unconscious beliefs is very stressful. How may we accommodate truth into our lives?

We are in the process of a long-term breakdown and transformation of collective hierarchy. The remnants of the old tenets that we’ve been struggling with are evident in tricky ways. We may find ourselves juggling options and obligations, trying to keep all the balls up in the air. Old stories are repeated in new guises – do we fall into the same trap? The drama is set on both the personal and collective stages.

Each eclipse is not an isolated event. The larger cycles, called the Saros Series, classifies this eclipse in a family that is characterized by an abundance of brilliant ideas. Bring it on!
