We are in the eclipse portal. Two eclipses: September 17 and October 2 occur two weeks apart and resonate strongly for about a month.

Unique. This full moon eclipse is central in a “Kite” configuration that includes a Grand Earth Trine (Virgo Sun, Taurus Uranus and Capricorn Pluto). It is a very supportive, empowering, and even practical aspect, which we need right now as we deal with all the complexities at this juncture! Awareness of unconscious thought patterns may be revealed as shadows come to light. Now is the time to break self-defeating habits. Don’t get distracted and miss this opportunity! Allow space for reflection, meditation, yoga, listening to music… however you do it.

Flavors in the Cosmic Swirl:

Moon conjunct Neptune in Pisces: Sense of Oneness. Heightened sensitivity, compassion, vulnerability.
Drifting, imaginative, intuitive. Living in a dream world or longing for the ineffable. Divine discontent.

Reality Check

The Jupiter Saturn cycle shows the possibilities or changes and development of an individual’s place in society as well as the possibilities or changes and development of groups (social, business and political).

Jupiter square Saturn extends from August 2024 until June 2025. The exact dates are August 19th, 2024 – December 24th, 2024 – June 15th, 2025. The week or so around each date is when it is the strongest, but keep in mind, it is in effect the whole ten months and will show up distinctly at various time for different people, organizations, or situations. There is a reshaping of our social, political and financial spheres.

The whole process can combine vision and ideals with the resolve and persistence to surpass obstacles. That sounds great, doesn’t it? It’s not simple. We face our fears. Confidence and self-assuredness are tested by reality. Breathing in and Breathing out. There are hard decisions that must be made. Stand up to keep your vision alive!

Aquarius Full Moon

August 19th, 2024

The lunar cycle peaks to fullness on the same day as the significant Jupiter Saturn square. The full moon is exactly square Uranus, creating a configuration known as a fixed T-square. The tension sparkles with activity and spontaneity. Although that may not be comfortable for everyone. Mercury is closely aligned with the Sun, marking a significant point in Mercury’s retrograde cycle. Breakthrough with new ideas and inspirations. Mercury will resume direct motion on the afternoon of August 28.

Seeds of Inquiry

The waxing square is a reality check for what began at the end of 2020.

What must be eliminated or completed or revised?

Are you in alignment with the intentions you planted at that time?

Dreams and Reality

The new season emerges
with a celebration of wings.
Butterflies, damselflies,
yellow-faced bumblebees,
the air is alive
with every sort of pollinator.
Little songbirds flit and flirt
and call their mates
while others are building nests…
the music of wings is all around.
Element: air.

Dreams beckon
as we walk on the fertile earth.
Each one of us has a precious life to live,
imagination and possibilities all around.
Element: earth.

Do we dare to dream when the world in on fire?
When people are wandering the planet looking for a place to call home
or digging out from the debris of disaster…
Element: fire.

We travel through this multi-layered life of
dreams and reality,
from the most tense and weighty burdens
to the gossamer wisps of imaginings.
Element: water.

This is a time of weaving together,
acknowledging the fullness of life, the fullness of summer.

Dreams and Reality

Full Moon: Moon in Capricorn (controlled, cool, and grounded) opposite Sun in Cancer (emotional, sensitive, and intuitive). There is a potential for tension in the ability to express emotions or in finding the opportunity to share feelings in a relationship. Perhaps circumstances demand that one remain stoic.

Neptune closely squares the full moon, adding confusion. Perhaps the person you want to share your feelings with is absent or plainly unavailable. Or you can’t quite find the words to convey your feelings. When Neptune is emphasized, as it is at this lunation, you can simply feel sleepy or fatigued. Dreaming, drifting and a bit out of touch with reality. Listen to the quiet voices within. Intuition is heightened. Find inspiration in the mundane. Deepen compassion. Love without delusion and awaken to where you have wandered off into illusion.

Jupiter entered into a new expression on May 25 for a year’s romp in Gemini. It can add an uplifting note, Gemini is sparkly and fun, curious but detached. Keep it light. Although gossip unbounded by moral standards and speaking without consideration exacerbated during this election year. Curiosity abounds, distraction magnified!

As Jupiter in Gemini is fueled by nascent Pluto in Aquarius, we step into a new world where news bits fly at the speed of light and empower images and words regardless of veracity. The word deepfake has been cropping up in the news. Deepfake is an image or recording that has been convincingly altered and manipulated to misrepresent someone as doing or saying something that was not actually done or said. Clearly, we must practice discernment!

What is the power we wield in our own lives?
Consider the power of words spoken truthfully and consciously

Scorpio Full Moon Magnified

Full Moon Fruit of the Aries Eclipse.

Intensity is always a keyword for any Scorpio Full Moon. Why magnified? Pluto (co-ruler, along with Mars, of Scorpio) is in a tense relationship with the Moon and the Sun. Astrologers call this configuration a T-square. It is a difficult situation, but can be a time of resourcefulness and strength. Breakdown and breakthrough. Surrender and renew. Pluto turns us inside-out. The planet of a catharsis, death and rebirth, power and fear is challenging fixed patterns in relationships. Radical shifts in power dynamics. Pluto destroys the old forms and instigates change, growth, and destruction. Motivating at best.

Curious that Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio. So… it is not just this full moon, we’re in the wake of the eclipse, super charged by the full moon.

Mars is the driving force of will, initiative, and assertion within each one of us. It is the passion that moves us forward in the world. Physical vitality and the ability (or inability) to express anger and rage, the Mars dynamic is not about thought or analysis. Mars is action. Courage, aggression, and willpower pushing forward. Be aware of irritability, obsessiveness and over extension. Mars emphasizes selfhood (or selfishness), division, and separation. Many feel pushed to take sides.

It’s worthwhile noting with Mars in Pisces (and conjunct Neptune exact on April 28^th), it is not always easy to express anger directly and many are inclined to seek diversions (check out, have a drink) or may act in a passive/aggressive manner. Compassion and kindness for all at best!
